C. Peter Wagner declares that the church is entering a new era with contemporary apostles leading the way. Wagner believes God has brought about the Second Apostolic Age through a New Apostolic Reformation marked by widespread recognition of today's gift and office of apostle.
In each chapter of Changing Church, Wagner looks at radical changes in the church. He holds that the year 2001 marked the beginning of the Second Apostolic age, but recognizes that such a statement may provoke critics.
Many leaders of the church will appreciate Wagner's call to church unity, but some will disagree with his understanding of theology and the future direction of the church.
